1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the IslamTools mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and IslamTools ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the App and any related services.

2. Description of Service

IslamTools provides Islamic tools and features including:

  • Prayer time calculations based on your location
  • Qibla direction compass
  • Quran reading with translations and tafseer
  • Duas and supplications
  • Prayer tracking and reminders
  • AI-powered Islamic guidance assistant
  • Islamic calendar and events
  • Zakat and inheritance calculators

3. User Accounts

Some features of the App require you to create an account or sign in using Google or Apple authentication. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Account deletion will permanently remove all associated data.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

IslamTools Premium: We offer optional premium subscriptions that provide enhanced features, including increased AI message limits. Subscription details:

  • Billing: Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Play Store account settings
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled according to Apple App Store or Google Play Store policies
  • Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with advance notice; changes will not affect your current billing period

Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase and may vary by region.

5. Free Trial

We may offer free trial periods for premium subscriptions. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google and is typically limited to one trial per user.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with the App's functionality or security
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use automated systems to access the App without permission
  • Share, resell, or redistribute your account access
  • Use the AI assistant for inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. AI Assistant Disclaimer

The IslamTools AI assistant is designed to provide general Islamic guidance and information. Important disclaimers:

  • Not a Substitute: AI responses are not a substitute for consultation with qualified Islamic scholars
  • Educational Purpose: Information is provided for educational purposes only
  • Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, AI responses may contain errors or incomplete information
  • Personal Matters: For important religious decisions, marriage, divorce, inheritance, or other significant matters, please consult qualified scholars
  • Sources: AI responses include citations where possible, but users should verify important information independently

8. Prayer Times Disclaimer

Prayer times are calculated using established astronomical algorithms and your device's location. However:

  • Prayer times are estimates and may vary slightly from official local mosque times
  • Accuracy depends on your device's location services
  • For precise prayer times, we recommend verifying with your local mosque
  • We support multiple calculation methods and madhhabs to accommodate different Islamic traditions

9. Intellectual Property

The App and its content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software, are the property of IslamTools and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Quranic text and translations are used with respect to their public domain status or appropriate licensing. We do not claim ownership of the Quran or hadith texts.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the App in the past 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless IslamTools and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App ceases immediately
  • You may lose access to your data
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending a notification through the App (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you are using the App on an Apple device:

  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims related to the App
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms
